Board
Ian Petherbridge, Chairman

Ian holds the role of Non Executive Chairman of the Board of Position Partners. After starting his career in surveying, Ian served as General Manager for Services in one of Australia’s largest IT Services companies. Prior to this, Ian co-founded a number of IT companies. With over 20 years of management experience Ian plays an integral role in the development of structured planning and reporting. He assists our management team in the implementation of our strategies to grow the business nationally. |
Martin Nix, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

Martin has degree in Surveying and a Master’s degree in Surveying Science (GIS) from the University of New South Wales. After practising as a registered surveyor, Martin joined Leica Geosystems and had several senior management roles in Australia, Switzerland and USA. Martin was head of a global business unit for Leica Geosystems which included GNSS reference networks and machine control systems. He then returned to Australia to lead the global mining and agricultural business units where GNSS technologies were combined with communications systems and spatial application software. Prior to joining Position Partners, Martin had his own consulting business. He has been a steering board member for the School of Geomatic engineering at the University College of London and is on the UNSW’s School of Surveying advisory board, ANZLIC’s working group on national positioning infrastructure (NPI) and the working group on Australian GNSS strategy for Space Policy Unit, along with other boards. |
Brian McLoughlin, Executive Director, Business Development Manager and State Manager NSW/ACT

Brian commenced his sales career in 1975 with Banbury Engineering, then distributors for Kato excavators, and sold his first laser in 1976. He moved to Laser Alignment in 1980 and was one of the early pioneers of the use of dual grade lasers and machine control. Together with business partner Garry Fleming, he started LaserQuip in Sydney in 1987 as the NSW distributors, where they introduced the concept of 2D control for graders in 1990. Brian and Garry manage the NSW operation of Position Partners. |

Executive Leadership Team
David Gow, State Manager SA/NT

David started in the industry in 1985 as a Instrument technician working for a small family business Instrument Supply Company. Whilst with Instrument Supply he completed a Zeiss Jena Training course in East Germany on the Zeiss Optical survey instruments. After his trade he moved to live and work in London where he secured a position with Johnson Mathey a precious metal refining company. While working in the weights a measures department he travelled around the UK and Europe maintaining and calibrating weighing equipment. On his return to Australia he worked for Laser Beams in South Australia for 5 years before becoming the principal of Ross Instruments in 1997 and acquiring the Topcon Dealership for SA & NT in 2000. David is the Regional Manager for South Australia and the Northern Territory. |
Garry Fleming, National Services Manager

Garry is a qualified engineering surveyor who worked in private practise for 12 years before making a career change into sales in 1985, specialising in construction lasers. In 1987 he followed an opportunity to start LaserQuip with business partner Brian McLoughlin and became the NSW distributors for the Spectra Physics range of lasers and machine control products. In 1995 they took the decision to become Topcon distributors for the same region. In his role as National Services Manager for Position Partners, Garry brings a passion for teamwork and excellent customer service. |
Harry Katsanevas, Major Projects Manager

Harry has been directly involved in the Laser and Machine Control business for 20 years commencing in the service area. He has received extensive training in Denmark, Sweden USA and Australia. Harry is recognized world-wide as a professional in terms of the best utilization of Machine Automation Equipment in Construction. Harry commenced his employment within this industry in the workshop managing maintenance and repairs. Based in Queensland, he is now the Major Projects Manager, responsible for all major projects nation-wide. Harry is a member of Executive Leadership Team of Position Partners. |
Reece Kline, Chief Financial Officer

Reece started his career with William Buck Chartered Accountants. He has since held Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretarial and General Management roles in the pharmaceutical and waste industries for both private and publically listed companies. He holds a degree in Business and is a member of CPA Australia and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. |
Robert Bent, Construction Products Manager and State Manager VIC/TAS

Bob began his career as a sales cadet for Banbury Engineering in 1975, pioneering the sale of pipe lasers to drainage and sewerage contractors. He then worked for Laser Systems until 1983, when he founded his own company, Laser Beams. Laser Beams soon became the Spectra Physics dealer for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia and in 1995 was proudly appointed Topcon’s Laser and Machine Control dealer in the same three states. Bob has been in the role of Victorian Regional Manager for Position Partners since the company formed in 2008. In April 2012 he was appointed National Manager Construction Products, managing a national team focussed on expanding distribution of our Construction Products through various channels. |
David Bubner, National Operations Manager

David has held regional operational positions with global corporations in both the Water and Wind industries. David started as a qualified industrial electrician and has moved through field based technician roles into Service Management and into Operational Management. He brings with him strong skills and expertise in the areas of process improvement, troubleshooting, service management, commercials and finance, and general business management. David holds a Masters of Management from Monash University. |
