Ian Petherbridge, Chairman

Ian holds the role of Non Executive Chairman of the Board of Position Partners. After starting his career in surveying, Ian served as General Manager for Services in one of Australia’s largest IT Services companies. Prior to this, Ian co-founded a number of IT companies. With over 20 years of management experience Ian plays an integral role in the development of a structured planning and reporting. He assists our management team in the implementation of our strategies to grow the business nationally. |
Martin Nix, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

Martin has degree in Surveying and a Master’s degree in Surveying Science (GIS) from the University of New South Wales. After practising as registered surveyor, Martin joined Leica Geosystems and had several senior management roles in Australia, Switzerland and USA. Martin was head of a global business unit for Leica Geosystems which included GNSS reference networks and machine control systems. Subsequent to this he returned to Australia to lead the global mining and agricultural business units where GNSS technologies were combined with communications systems and spatial application software. Prior to joining Position Partners, Martin had his own consulting business with active assignments in Australian GNSS issues such as planning for CORS and Australia’s space policy. He has been a steering board member for the School of Geomatic engineering at the University College of London and is on the UNSW’s School of Surveying advisory board, ANZLIC’s working group on national positioning infrastructure (NPI) and the working group on Australian GNSS strategy for Space Policy Unit |
Brian McLoughlin, Executive Director, State Manager NSW and Founder

Brian commenced his sales career in 1975 with Banbury Engineering, then distributors for Kato excavators, and sold his first laser in 1976. He moved to Laser Alignment in 1980 and was one of the early pioneers of the use of dual grade lasers and machine control. Together with business partner Garry Fleming, he started LaserQuip in Sydney in 1987 as the NSW distributors, where they introduced the concept of 2D control for graders in 1990. Brian and Garry manage the NSW operation of Position Partners. |

Robert Bent, State Manager VIC/TAS and Founder

Bob started in 1976, working as a sales cadet for a machinery company that took the laser distribution of an American based laser company. In 1982, Bob formed Laser Beams and in 1995, he was appointed the South Australian / Victorian distributer for Topcon. |
Joanne Liddy, Financial Controller

Since commencing her career at Ernst & Whinney, Joanne has fulfilled a number of finance roles in various private companies. In the past four years she has undertaken the role of Financial Controller, joining Position Partners in April 2010. Joanne is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. |
