Mounting the SWARM to the Base Plate avoids drilling a hole. It allows you to place the SWARM directly on any solid floor, instead of mounting it to a wall or floor inside a building.
The Omnidots Base Plate is the ultimate accessory for when you want to monitor vibrations inside buildings and you do not want or can not mount the SWARM directly to a wall or floor. The SWARM is mounted to the Base Plate with one single bolt, the Base Plate is placed on a solid surface. The Base Plate has both spikes and rounded legs, so it is suitable for installation on both carpet and wooden floors, for example. The Base Plate is made of steel and has a diameter of 18 cm (7.09 inches), a height of 6 cm (2.36 inches) and weighs 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs).
